baby elephant syndrome

i had a baby elephant once...hehe
a "teddy" baby elephant :p
look something like dis

(pink tongue, pink ears, grey fluffy fur but with no cute blue flower)

but unfortunately,
when i pass it down to my youngest brother,
my cute baby elephant is used as a monster to fight with his power rangers set...hahaha

anyway,
have u heard of "baby elephant syndrome"?
a famous story in the internet once...bet u've heard of it but i wanna re-tell it anyway~

hee

as we know,
elephant is one of the humongous creature roaming this world,
n i won't deny its strength.
it can easily pull out a tree trunk including its root as if pulling weeds out
or walk over cars like walking on sand
(duh!...dis is way too exaggerated...hahaha)
reminds me of a movie..."Jumanji" when Alan accidently released a stampede of jungle creatures...hehe

but...how is this possible?

these gigantic elephants lined up,
only tied with a simple metal chain
on only one leg
pecked to the ground!
and...they are very polite to not escape!

*mayb,
their trainer is so nice to them that they think they might regret leaving this imprisonment...haha
"husnu zhonn"
no, jz kidding...

well...these matured adult elephants
has been trained since they were only cute little baby elephants
to be chained to a strong iron shackle (on only one foot)

so this poor trapped baby elephant persistently tried to free himself away

urgh urgh urghhhhh!!!!

but he could not...
however hard he tried, he couldn't free himself out,
n he was stuck to loiter around the radius of his strong ironed chain...

n poor baby elephant finally gave up!
he knows...
that there is no use attempting to free himself...
he'll fail anyway~...huuu

sad baby elephant...:(

even after baby elephant became a strong big adult elephant,
he never again tried!
though i bet they can easily walk away from their simple metal chains..(refer to the second top pic)

'why my dear elephant?'
'i'll never get away, i've tried before n i failed =('

the powerful adult elephant unfortunately does not possess the mind like Thomas Edison's...
'who never gave up!
experimenting upon thousands of filaments...
and finally,
came up with our quite long lasting light bulbs'

the bad experience adult elephant had during childhood
limit his extremely powerful abilities...
and he is stuck imprison by a simple metal chain....huuu~

only if he has the guts to think big of himself
as huge as he is...
who knows, one day...an elephant can even fly~

Dumbo the flying elephant!

so, my story fun??
hee

i'll never forget my psychiatric prof once said:

'our brain has limitless ability, but it is our mind that imprison it'

so, as May is ending and June is approaching...

all the best for my friends n juniors for ur final exams
giv out all your efforts n never stop trying!

'berusaha sampai kedetik yang terakhir dan sampai ketitisan dakwat terakhir'
*my dad always says this to me if i whine am scared and nervous...;)

*first time after 5 years,
june is not associated with sympathetic rush for me...hee
though, i dread this end november rush will be greater than all 5 years put together
do pray for me n gen6...please please pleaseee

^^ thnx for reading till the end...
dah lame x membebel...haha

sakura in cairo?

in the name of Allah, the Most Gracious the Most Merciful

39. And among His Sign (in this), that you see the earth barren, but when We send down water (rain) to it, it is stirred to life and growth (of vegetations). Verily, He Who gives it life, surely, (He) is Able to give life to the dead (on the Day of Resurrection). Indeed! He is Able to do all things.

sadaqallahu al Azim
surah Fussilat, verse 39

reading this verse, reminds me of a tree in our beloved faculty
this particular tree...
the one just beside anatomy department in front of the conference center,
i honestly thought it was dead...sitting under it in the chilly winter...
i pity that it might be chopped off as there was major 'tree grooming' occurring throughout our faculty

a few months ago it was just tree trunk n branches...not even a single leaf on it...or mayb a tiny one or two...
it look exactly like my grandma's mangosteen tree that was struck by lightning back in malaysia

but...
as spring approaches...tiny leaves started to peak out from its tiny branches...

the tree on the left which is almost see through

and by 3 weeks or so after that...it was laden with greenary and even flowers blooming out of it!

not so see through anymore

am just like...huh?...it felt like just yesterday i wonder when would it be cutdown...hehe
sam said 'that tree must b laughing at you back then'
duh!~

*do we have any ways like 'conduction nerve studies' or EMG to know the viability of a tree?

anyway, just wanna show how i just realized 'spring' in Kasr el Ainy...
(after 6 years??!!)

emmm, well...we used to be in study leave in the past 5 years during this season...

no wonder i never noticed!
even if i was walking to the faculty for the exams, i might have not paid any attention to the trees...and of course not their blooming flowers

*the title is "sakura" because shae said that these flowers are related to the 'sakura's' in Japan...hee
they are orangie bright red...but the one at the front gate is pink...^^ (no pictures though)

sakura in cairo??...hehe
Egypt certainly has the potentials to be as good or even better than Japan

i was told 6 years ago that i'll be going to a country that is known as "أم الدنيا"
^_^

all the best Egyptians for this presidential elections
may all your efforts will be paid
and Allah grant you people that really cares for this country

the heel never heals

'didn't they say that the heel never heals'
-Dr Hussein M. Khairy

i took interest in writing about heel because,
in one of my general surgery tutorials,
in our lesson of arterial diseases (high blood pressure mainly and high blood cholesterol) and diabetes
Prof Dr Moataz explained about the skin on our heel in exquisitely mesmerizing construe

he questions...

we do realize that the skin on our heel is the thickest of all skin right?
it is obvious why...we walk on our heel!
our whole body's weight is loaded upon it! plus pressure, sharp objects, accidents...
an "injury-prone" site
the thick skin is put there for protection
alhamdulillah ^_^

but, do we also notice that our heel is extremely sensitive?

if there's a shoe with the tiniest pebble coincidently slipped in it
and you wore it walking from home to your tutorials
it'll irritate you like hell!
(pardon my language...hehe)

you'll definitely stop before you reach your destination to throw that irritating pebble out. ryte?
but if not...please do so,
it's the rights of the skin on your heel...please protect it from injury! :p

another example...
try to fondle the heel of your friend or family with the softest feather you can find (grin mischievously...hehe)
another irritation huh?...haha
if he or she doesn't feel...
either they purposely habituate (duh~)
or have decrease sensation detector (o ooww)

the thickest skin on our body
has the sensitivity as sensitive as our lips

isn't it mesmerizing?
(agree even if you don't...haha, for me...:D)

you can't find any other skin on your body to substitute for your heel!
subhanallah!!!

but diabetes (high blood sugar)
can destroy our nerves...
rendering us from the sense of feeling
and if we forget to check our foot for injuries...
it may be destroyed to the point of no cure =(

and arterial diseases,
they can decrease blood to our foot (i.e. furthest structure from our heart),
making the foot an easy target for infection
and gangrene T_T

and unfortunately,
diabetes,
high blood pressure
n high cholesterols
are common in our advancing civilization...huhu
they are preventable though (rising eyebrows...hehe)

do care for our precious irreplaceable 'mesmerizing' heel

and this applies to our whole body too...
even how trivial you feel a part of your physical is,
there's countless miracle reason it is there...

*the reminder also need to be reminded ;)
