a wife

while i was asking around about my march project...
as we are girls...hehe (giggly)
the subject of life partner comes up eventually...
*mayb because we are surrounded by a "marrying community"...:p

and one of the criteria apart from loving caring sensitive confident supportive bla bla bla (whoa...sounds demanding? LOL) is
someone who'd also love our parents as much as we do...

ehem...amiruddin, my junior in highschool wish to give his mom a wife that can take care of both his parents if he's away...so he need not to worry much of their health...(nk Dr. ea?...hehe)

may u b granted this wonderfully thoughtful wish...ameen :)

but they say, as much as we wanted a perfect partner...we should also work to be a perfect person ourselves...
and of course, my best idol are my own parents...^_^

i can't imagine one without the other
and mama n ayah taught me not only to be nice and caring to their own parents
but also to any family members we posses

my grandma n me
may our family be reunited in Jannah :)

* what i mean by "marrying community" is i keep getting wedding invitations...just to be clear...hehe

a loving guy

of course ayah'll be jealous if i give mama a guy...hehe
no no,
my bestfriend here means...

a guy for me to love mama as wholeheartedly too :)
dun worry ayah..:p

of course
one of the best thing we can give our parents is to find someone that strengthen our bond with them...
so....

hehehe

a chair

this reminds me of the musical chairs we use to play at birthday parties...

a very very long time ago,
me and my lil brother entered one musical chair at a shopping mall with mama n ayah
a very distant memory...
am not really gud at 'fighting' :p
so safwan n ayah won...or was it second place?hehe
i miss spending times with mama n ayah...

my lil bunny junior (x pe kn tqah? u'r jz an adorable one ;)
shared with me what she'd get her mom...

yup, this sounds easier...hihi :p
(plus, we can hav a sit on it too once in a while)
though a chair's touch of course aren't the same as ur own child's touch
but the point is, the quality time together :)
(i may consider a massaging course...hehe)

u mentioned 'that odd grey hair'
hurm...
as we grow old n busier, we fail to realize that our mom are also growing old...
and as a young enthusiastic teenager,
i forgot to put that in consideration while choosing a course for my future
sorry ma n ayah...:(

though i know all u wanted is just to see us successful n happy...
things'll work one way or another hopefully ;)

may Allah make us grateful childrens...
and be able to portray it
love u ma!

it's been a while since i massage mama
ever since i came her to study abroad i guess...

huda, my high school friend told me this:

thanx huda!

am touched that it's so sweet...
and am also touched that
it is true mama used to ask me to massage her...
but in those days, hehe...am a naughty gurl...sorry ma...
tho i do massage u sometimes
but since am far away, i dun remember mama ever asked anymore...
i'll get my chances...when am back insyaAllah...bley kn ma? :D
love u ma...

while i was trying to google up about lotion...i found this,
http://www.purenaturaldiva.com/2010/04/recipe-make-your-own-body-cream-lotion-bodybutter/
if we have some spare time...we might consider a handmade lotion for our beloved mother :)

and ma and ayah...safe journey tomorrow! ;)

miracle

today's idea came from one of my egyptian friend

she said...

hehe...
now we r slowly changing topics from kitchenware to perfumes..
thanx narges!

u'r the only one who mentioned perfume...
i took interest in perfumes because,
my mom loves perfumes too...and,
my first ever perfume was given to me by mama on my 12th birthday...
(11 years ago already?)

n yup...it was a 'miracle'

thanx mama!
it's a miracle indeed that i've lived for 23 years already...
a miracle for me to even take a step on cairo's sacred ground
and a miracle to have wonderful friends ^_^

i wouldn't have reach here without ur nurture n prayers...

coffee tumbler

when i first read this word, i googled it up...hehe
i didn't know what a coffee tumbler is...and turns out it was this

owh~
a Thermos (i call it a Thermos)

this was why my friend wanted to give his mom a thermos

thanx effy! so, ur mom loves coffee ey?

though i may not take this idea of giving my mom a coffee tumbler,
cause i've never seen my mom into coffee that much...hehe
but,
ur reply made me realize that, i wasn't sure what my mom loves to drink!
Owh My God!...can't believe it!!!

so i asked...and ayah replied

"favourite drink mama air barley or tembikai (watermelon) juice"

owh, now i remembered that everytime we dine outside,
mama used to order either of them...:)

even how close we are to someone, there's always something we still didn't realize
love you ma!

that myth is...BUSTED!

thnx eckm...yes indeed, mama definitely'll say that our success will suffice..^_^

but ur last sentence
reminds me of three years ago
during my summer holiday...
i joined this program called FIMA camp in Langkawi

hearing that am going to that duty free island,
mama asked that if i came across the Corelle serving dish she'd like one

ok, no prob~

few hours before we leave to the airport, i held mama's Corelle serving dish to get a good look and remember the patterns well

as i was just twisting them around in my hands...
slipped!
crash!!!!

cause i stole this picture from this blog...so, i'll promote it...hehe
it has the whole set of Corelle's dinnerware!!!

yup!...i crashed it! (this one's exactly if am not mistaken)...down on our kitchen floor...huh!! opsss!!!
but...jz the glass lid...hehe
nervous...but, no time to cover up or i'll miss my plane...huhu...
luckily mama jz shook her head and helped me clean up the shattered glasses...
i know u love ur set
u do remember that incident don't you mama?...

i was nervous mainly cause there's this old saying:

'if tragic things happens just before you travel,
there's a high incidence things might turn out badly'

nervous that you might not let me go to langkawi...but...u did!
and after my visit to Langkawi,
i can say that that superstitions is "busted!"...(hehe...if you watch mythbuster)

i mean...even if that incidence didn't happen,
there's still the same chance of things turning out badly
so...we give our best effort to avoid them and put our tawakkal to Allah...
not getting ridiculously afraid based on a superstitious vision..

still...so sorry mama! :(

but i did came back from langkawi with a new one...hee

tefal

around last month and this month every year is a 'farewell month' to my seniors...
and every year i'll observe the stuffs they bring home...

medical students use to bring back scrubs, medical appliances n tons of their books back..hehe
but azhar students, some of them brought back this

yup!
a set of kitchenware
they say it's cheap here...maybe?

anyway...today's idea was lent by our beloved 'penolong ketua kelas'..hehe

when i asked mufidah in class what unique things she wanted to give her mom,
she said "cooking appliances!"
"y?"
"because everytime she cooks, she'll b reminded of me...and mom cooks everyday! :D"
"but it's new! your mom'll keep it n be reluctant to use it~" dayah provoked hehe
"nope! i'll change the whole set so she have no option but to use them! hihi" mufid replied happily

buy that 'tefal' set ok mufid...:p
mama nak satu set?...
anything for you!but...tunggu yana da kerje nanti ea...hehe

pisau potong daging

this was the first answer i got after i sent the questions over
hee...am very touched mimie!

mimie wanted to give her mom a blinding sharp meat cutter to help her out in the kitchen

well, which type of meat cutter are you talking about?
this one?

or this?

knives in my house is always sharpened by my dad every now and then
my mom don't hav ur mother's problem i guess
or do you mama?

good luck finding a new one!
nnt ak singgah rumah ko masak steak k babe! :p

i remembered once when i was in primary school,
mama n ayah served steak for dinner
i particularly remembered that day because we used sharp knives to cut the meat
this one

and mama constantly reminded me n safwan to be careful that our knives are extremely sharp...hehe
i was worried mama didn't have the time to enjoy her steak as she was fussing about us...hee

besnye mkn steak...thank you mama! :D

pyrex - WEDDING?? :p

hav anyone have these pyrex kitchenwares at home?
i have em at home...but not mine of course...hehe
my mom's..

on this special day,
i'd like to post about my unique gift for my mother..

about 4 years ago, in summer
it was the first time i spent summer in malaysia after 2 years in egypt...
around the last week of my stay in malaysia (if i am not mistaken)
my parents did a small 'open house' for our families...before i flew off..

while mom was cooking,
i helped my dad taking out these pyrex kitchenware from the cabinet
we were planning to use it for serving the dishes
while i was dusting them, ayah told me a story:

"these pyrex were baught when you were three years old"
"waa...so long time ago!"
"yea, at that tyme mama was planning to use them for your wedding...hahaha, n u were only three years old at that time"
"owh really?..."

i was so touched that mama thought of my wedding at that very young age...hehe
so, my unique gift is...

an honour for my mom to plan whatever she likes for my wedding...
cause...since i heard my dad's story,
my 'dream-wedding' is the one my mom wanted!

this is a sharing from my sister...

and as today's my birthday,
i wanna say the same too..
thanx for giving birth to me and bare all my headstrong n naughty n lazy attitude
sorry for that
but i know you love me :D

mother's touch

to most of us the best cooking is our mother's
but some other people might disagree with us
why would it taste different?
because...
mothers,
put a secret ingredient in their cooking:

her wholehearted love! ^_^

my primary school friend's unique gift to her mom is

thnx so much wani! so sweet~
i can't deny, a simple dish taste marvellous just because mama cooked it
hehe

once, i asked a mother how she did 'nasi lemak' as her son praised her 'nasi lemak' so much
she gave me the steps as anybody would make 'nasi lemak' and the last step was:
"and put lots of love in it"

aaaaww~~

a mother's touch is really magical!
rindu apam balik mama....hehe

*did you know what happened today 88 years ago?

*i took this from fathiyah's fb...thnx dear :)

I LOVE YOU MAMA!!!

today am feeling a bit shaky,
(nk xm psychiatry...haha)
as i were skimming through the list of replies i'd like to elaborate upon today,
trying to find something close to heart
but i couldn't match one...as am feeling a bit demotivated today,
so i went and ask my housemates' help

n iqa gave a very touching answer

than iqa asked me...have you ever said i love you to your mom?
err...have i mama?

I LOVE YOU MAMA! ^_^
thnx iqa!!

A Teacher

bismillahi ar rahmani ar rahim...

but this one friend gave me tremendous support that am confident to go through with it...
and am really touched by her reply

because of her great effort i honour her unique gift to be the first for this year

handwritten...terharunyee

studying in Egypt gives us an extra advantage,
apart from just learning hard core medicine, we are also surrounded by strong islamic community
it would be a waste to not grab this oppurtunity

we've always thought that a mother nourishes n train her childern...
but, why not working on to be a teacher for your mother instead right?

hehe,
i've also helped u with arabic n quran a bit right ma? will always ^_^
happy mama's month mama!

*a rough translation into english...it's jz too beautiful...hope it can b understood :)

UNIQUE GIFTS!!! (march 12)

assalamualaykum, ^_^
as usual...every year of march since 2010 i've dedicated it for my mom as her birthday gift
but this year...am not going to talk about my mom,
instead, i've made a project...

i've collected ideas from friends (majority my age - age-wise n maturity-wise...haha)
about what kind of gifts they find most unique for their mothers and why they are unique...

'pardon me, am so lousy at finding a way how to screen capture stuffs...
and not currently having the ample time to learn it...ops...hehe :p'

an infinity gratitude i convey to all who helped out by lending me their ideas and even the moral support ^_^
and by tomorrow, will start MY MAMA'S MONTH 2012!

do pray i have the perseverance to be consistent!
hope these unique gifts touches your heart mama :)

* wanna add this unique thing that crosses my mind today...

as i were peeling of the skin of kiwi fruits for my first ever pavlova,

second helping...making pavlova made me realize am not an artist...haha

it got me thinkin, who was the first ever guy to realize that kiwi is actually a fruit?
i mean, hav u ever seen a kiwi before it was peeled?
it's brownish, with a skin that feels like coarse velvet...

if i were to come across this fruit,
i'd hav no idea that inside it is green n have something so delicious...(nyum3)
i might regard it as one of the pebbles in the woods...hehe

this made me question where did this fruit came from..
i was convinced before it came somewhere from australia continent
dunno why kiwi reminds me of koala bears n kangaroo...hehe
bt...nope!
it came from............

CHINA!
click for a link to a blog talking about kiwi...:)

saje nk share this thought ^_^...hehe

keel

do you know what is keel?

yesterday in Dr. Hussein Khairy's class, there was dis picture on the white board n Dr. Hussein Khairy asked
"what is this?"

being so human-anatomy oriented...most of us answered
"urinary bladder!!" (i guess, at least i did tot it was a urinary bladder...haha)
"look carefully, it's a ship!" he answered

a ship? confused how's a ship is related to our discussion

"see! this is the paddle n here's water...what about this?" (refer to the arrow)
"aaaaa???" i never tot that thing has a name...hehe
"it's a keel!...and dis?" (the one beside the ship)

"erm???"
"a hernia! and this is the hernia invaginated inside if you dun wanna excised the sac...it's called keel operation. it looks the same like the keel of a ship ryte?
keel is not a person's name it's  a description."

juz felt wanna share this new info...all my life i've never known about "keel" ^_^
n surely it's an extraordinary way of explaining it to us

it got me thinkin of how very wide these surgeon's general knowledge were before...
relating a keel of the boat to a hernia operation

now am feeling like being a surgeon...hehe

let's be on even keel...duniawi n ukhrawi

ikan pari bakar kuah percik

in winter holiday, i enjoyed myself too much...
missing those days already like they were a thousand years away...T_T
(exaggerate nyerrr)

anyway,
there was an incident in malaysia that reminds me of my life in egypt
ever since my dad had an emergency stent in his coronary, our house has only been having healthy food...thanks to my mother's unconditional love...hehe
(dun get me wrong ma, the foods are still marvellous)
so we usually have grilled fish...n one of my dad's favourite - grilled stingray

one night, after dinner...i procrastinated cleaning up the dining table as some of us havn't had dinner yet... until it was about midnight, when i suddenly remembered to keep the leftovers into the fridge...
there then, i found out that the grilled stingray which was draped with *'kuah percik' already gives out a tinge of 'smell'

i picked up the portion of fish n smelt it closely...*ting!!!*
n i was brought back to a memory of six years ago...in one of my early days in cairo
i was waiting for a bus at night with a bunch of girls (sorry i couldn't recall where i was heading) and suddenly, a silhouette of a body strolled towards the nearest trash container about 4 feet away from us.
the silhouette started scrambling the trash in it...

every few strokes, he will pick up something and smell it closely...
after almost several times trying, he finally found it...
the silhouette moved towards us and seems like he's peeling off something from which he's holding
and when suddenly the neon road light fall onto his face... i realized the silhouette was actually a women!
n...she was eating what seemed to be bread...

i almost cried witnessing this site...
now, back in malaysia 6 years later...
i couldn't bear myself to throw away that grilled stingray, n since the tinge of smell seemed to come only from the draper, so i washed away that 'percik' sauce and grilled the fish again...

i think it smells ok after i grilled it
but i hav no idea who finished it...opss!

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

...فَبِأَىِّ ءَالآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

(ar Rahman verse 13)

reminding myself first and foremost and anyone who's reading
n also, i apologize if i touched anybody's sentiments...

*kuah percik is a sauce containing coconut milk if am not mistaken, so it can get bad easily especially in malaysia's humid weather
keh3...nk back up diri to not b blamed for not keeping the leftovers earlier...sorry mama :'(
